In the line of politics: Yes, it generally corrupts. eg: Asif Ali Zardari.

In the line of business/others: No.

It does corrode. And ironically, it corrodes in such a way that the owner does not even realize it until he has nothing left. Wink

Reason? Diversion from their main goal and focusing on 'other' stuffs.

eg. Roman empire, british empire, Soviet union, Nazi, Babar, Akbar, Mughal etc.

None of them exist now.

The way American focus is diverting from what was its founding father's - seems like its next on the row.

I think that line is a little incorrect. Many people are corrupt even when they are in line of business/others.

Government Sectors are most vulnerable to corruption.

Yup, but their activities are usually well within the legal framework. Businesspeople are usually well aware of what is within the legal framework and what is not. They make sure that they are within it. Therefore, legally, what they do cannot directly be called corruption.

Whereas, political people are bluntly corrupt.

That's the major difference between the two.

Usually. Best example is the countries in the indian subcontinent.

China is an exception.

It's ingrained in the human psyche. Power corrupts. Even if the businessmen had the power to bend laws he'd use it to his own advantage.

ohk i think power doesnt corrupt !!

its the corrupt person coming into power abuses it !!

eg : a street cleaner if corrupt cannot show it  but when he becomes a politician or so ! he will show his corrupt by misusing the power

a person with strong value will never become corrupt in with all the power in his hands !!

I don't think power has anything to do with a person being corrupted, its the person who chooses to be corrupt
by using power as a tool.
Its an individuals choice to choose the path , power helps greatly in both paths i.e in good & bad,

Power does not corrupt. Fear corrupts. Perhaps the fear of loosing the power.
