can any1 plz tell me whether they're gonna set A* in alevel cambridge this year starting fom june 2010?  Huh?
Edexcel had set the A* in alevels but is it the same for cambridge? plz i want an answer ASAP.. Thanks in advance...  Smiley

There is no astar in AS but there is at the end of A level.

Yes, there is a star in alevel i subscribed in CIE newsletter and thet sent me the following:

Changes to the UK A Level grading system have provided an opportunity for us to consult with schools over the publication of results that reflect the very high levels of success achieved by Cambridge International A Level candidates.

The highest performing Cambridge International A Level students will receive an A* grade from June 2010, at the same time as the grade is introduced for UK A Level students. The publication of the new grade does not mark a change in Cambridge International A Level standards.

We believe it is important that Cambridge students around the world have access to the same grade range as their UK peers, as UK universities are very popular destinations for Cambridge international students.

The new Grade A* applies to Cambridge International A Level only. The grade scale for Cambridge International AS Level remains A to E.
